G orgeous senior soul, Scarlet, was rescued from a perilous life on the streets, made all the more treacherous due to her blindness. Whether she had recently lost her vision or had been a pet who was abandoned once her eyesight began to fail her, we may never know, but one thing we are certain of, is that she will never have to fight for her survival again.
Sensing the world through her nose and ears, Scarlet is a true explorer and while she can’t run and frolic like younger, sighted dogs, she gets around remarkably well, all things considered. Relaxed, loving, and needing nothing more than a safe environment to chill out in, good food, and good company.
Around mid June 2023, Scarlett started losing appetite, and blood tests showed kidney insufficiency. She also started to develop multiple tumors over her body, along with symptoms of other organs showing deterioration. On the 30th, her condition deteriorated and we had to take the difficult decision to put her to sleep. A beautiful senior soul, she had endeared herself to everyone during the short time she shared with us. May her soul rest in peace!
