R escued with a severed forelimb when he was around 7 weeks old, this darling little pup was weak and in pain, but not once did we hear him complain. Pecan sadly went on to develop an issue with one of his hindlimbs, meaning that he struggled to move around as easily as the other pups under our care, but he has continued to thrive and is now a healthy, happy young dog.
With his huge ears and mischievous eyes, Pecan uses his voice to show his furry friends that he’s the top dog, but we all know he’s a cuddly softy at heart and would rather lick you than bite you!
While Pecan is not as mobile as other dogs, he still enjoys short walks (or hops!), but his favourite pastimes are snoozing, eating and being pampered, so if you take this adorable boy home with you, give him those 3 things and he’ll not ask for anything more.
On October 26th, 2023, Pecan suddenly had an episode of fits and despite our best efforts, collapsed on the table while under treatment. The post-mortem showed internal hemorrhage on both the kidney and liver. We deeply mourn the loss, augmented by the fact that we have been unable to determine what triggered the condition that led to his death. An adorable soul, he served as an inspiration to anyone who came across him at our center. May his soul RIP!
