H elen was rescued after we received many reports and videos of a blind dog roaming around in the city. Scared, confused and highly vulnerable, it was of the utmost urgency that this sweet soul be brought to safety. Thankfully, a local rescuer sprang into action, and once she arrived at our clinic, she was gently examined and diagnosed with blindness due to cataracts.
Now with a warm, safe space to enjoy her daily meals and under constant supervision, we’re concentrating on giving Helen the love and security she deserves, for as long as she needs it.
Toward the end of December 2025, Helen had a loss of appetite and began to look dull. Blood work showed low platelets, and treatment began immediately. Her appetite improved, and she looked better. However, on January 6, 2026, Helen deteriorated rapidly. Despite our best efforts, she passed away the next day. We are happy to have given this sweet senior soul a few happy months. She will always be remembered for her loving and gentle nature. May her soul rest in peace.
