H ank faced adversity right from the get-go when as an abandoned pet, residents in the area, rather than offering compassion and care, subjected him to abject cruelty. Stones were hurled, water was thrown – and poor Hank bore both the physical and emotional scars of this torment when finally rescued.
Covered in ticks and utterly downhearted, his condition served as a poignant reminder of the cruelty of humans. Fortunately for Hank, following a course of intensive treatment and lots of tender care, he has put that troubled time in his life firmly in the past where it belongs, and his trust in humanity has been slowly rekindled.
Hank's personality blends friendliness, playfulness, and a zest for life. He will thrive under the care of a family experienced with his breed, and one that can provide ample space for his exuberance. As a single pet, he seeks to rewrite his past; will you be the one to pen a new chapter in Hank's life?
While Hank appeared happy and active, it was noticed that his health was not improving. A blood test revealed values suggestive of tick fever. Despite the prompt administration of treatment, his condition did not improve. All attempts at finding a suitable blood donor for him failed, and eventually, when we managed to find one, it was too late. Hank left this world on his terms, and we are grateful to have given him a few happy months with us. Run free, Hank!
