H ave you ever seen an animal in such a heartbreaking condition that all you want to do is scoop them right up and make everything better? That was Crystal for us. A distemper survivor with an awful wound on her face and maggots feasting on her flesh, this poor pup had suffered beyond her years, and we hoped beyond hope that she would make it through.

A true survivor in every sense of the word, Crystal did make it through, but not without the trauma having left its mark, with one of her eyes needing constant attention. As a result, she will live permanently here with us. Not your typical playful pup, she is more of a gentle soul who just wants to be left alone; find a cozy corner, curl up, and sleep the day away, that’s our Crystal!

Deserving the very best that we can possibly offer, we are devoted to caring for her, but we really need your help. By virtually adopting Crystal, you can help support her as she lives with us, and whenever you want to visit her, simply schedule a day and a time, and come and feast your eyes on what your love and generosity are helping to nurture!

On September 16, 2025, during an unexpected fight among the dogs in her enclosure, Crystal sustained serious injuries. Given her poor prognosis due to pre-existing health issues and her already fragile condition, we made the difficult decision to let her go peacefully. We mourn her deeply. May she rest in peace!
